yeah i have a similar problem and don't what the problem is

When i encode to Mpeg-4 from dvd the video file will play but it is choppy and so is the audio. How can i fix this?

The conversion of the dvd to mpeg-4 goes smoothly but when i play the file the video has grey blocks every where and the video/audio is choppy . Any body else have this problem and might know what the solution is??
