iPad encode testing

While I've done a few encodes with just the plain appleTV preset that play and look just fine, I wanted to see what else the iPad could handle. I used the Apple preset and made a few adjustments. I did a 2min clip from Gamer. Original rip from bluray .m2ts with DTS. Change it to a width of 1024 (102...

Re: Advanced options and CPU

Thanks for the input... Ive been tru that wiki lots of times..

But yes im looking for playback ease not really encoding time. What make it easier for a given CPU to playback the encode.

Re: Max Bitrates relation to buffer size

I Did read the link, but I guess I didnt understand.

So the playback devices/softwares working buffer = the buffsize?

I have had no issue with the moveis Ive done with setting above... what would be some issues if incorrect bufsize was set?

Advanced options and CPU

What advanced .h264 settings/options use more CPU to decode? aside from bitrate and size 480/720/1080 what makes it harder for a cpu to playback?

??

How long? you mean the length/time of the movie? can you type in an example?

Re: Max Bitrates relation to buffer size

Im still not understanding how buffer affects things. Right now Ive figured that my Mac Mini 1.83ghz running Plex (.13) can handle around a MAX/Peak bitrate of 30mps. So ive capped it vbv-maxrate=26000 and a bufsize=5000 and Ive set the average bitrate to 20000 Can someone that knows... explain what...

Max Bitrates relation to buffer size

Max Bitrates relation to buffer size: Is there are relation? how do they relate? should a given max rate have any specific type of buffer amount? Is a buffer needed when setting max bitrate anyway? Is buffer only related to streaming over networks? Edit: opps should have posted this in Devices... pl...

Re: DTS pass thru

I would be very interested in implementing DTS passthru for an MKV.

I have compiled handbrake source before, but im unsure how to integrate the patches. Is there a walk thru/guide for doing so?
Any links or help would be great!!!! please...

I get no option for DTS passthru in the audio settings roll downs.

Re: Apple Movie Rental encoding settings

The Apple movie rentals are encoded from a much higher quality original than that of a DVD. So don't think your going to match the quality.
Other than that the Apple presets in handbrake are the way to go.

Using Anydvd HD and then used TSmuxer to create m2ts file (under windows)
The movie is Death Race
In Handbrake 0.9.3 under OS X 10.5.6

Uncheck Chapters turns mv4 into mp4

Why does this happen?
