Looks like the issue is due to the reading of the disk from the SuperDrive. If I copy the VIDEO_TS folder to the hard drive and then rip the file from there then I'm seeing around 31fps and my processors are only around 15% idle. For some reason my performance appears to be pretty dismal and I don't understand why.
