Re: Need help on subtitle
mp4box can do this. There are several GUI front-ends for it out there. It takes .srt and converts them to tx3g or ttxt. A single flag in the fourcc when adding these two-identical files will indicate to the ipod whether it's an "ipod optimized" subtitle or not. If it is, then formatting is...

Re: [Invalid] Increase subtitles size
This is partly an apple problem. But it's also a problem of Handbrake. Currently handbrake is hardcoding the size of the subtitles in the temporary TTXT XML file it creates for import into the video. It's hardcoding this in a way that makes sense for an iPhone screen. The size must be increased if t...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
You will need at least a 0.4.6 version of mp4box. Or you could change the handler of the subtitle track from sbtl to text, and then extract the subtitles. You can do it with dumpster. When checking mp4box from source forge, I get version 0.4.5 whether checked out via CVS or just downloaded directly...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
Sorry if this is a really stupid question - what does "optimize" do? I clicked save and subtitles became active in itunes and on the AppleTV, so what difference to optimising do? If I understand correctly, optimize rearranges the location of the meta-tags. I have not yet seen any differen...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
I'm facing a similar problem with compilation clashing with an existing MP4V2 installation (I believe).
Also, the CLI won't be updated in Binary form? The binary is much older than the existing code.
I understood the CLI couldn't be made multiplatform. Is this right?

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
For me no notification of new version comes up. Still, if artwork is the only change I'll pass on this one. Until drag & drop is supported I'm mostly covered. EDIT: In the end I downloaded the new version, but Sparle never notified me. If it has worked for others I assume it's a problem of my ma...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
Obviously is converted to the right iso code in the mp4… :P No, right. I understood that. I'm sorry. I was wondering out loud what code is used internally by tx3g tracks (which is what I assume we're using inside .m4v mp4 containers) and whether there was a language list to make sure people don't m...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
The language uses the full language name in english? I would've expected a shorter ISO-639-2 or ISO-639-3 code. I was assuming Quicktime recognizes ISO-639-2 (or -3 ) language lists but I've realized my iPod lists "Spanish" as "Spanish; castilian", which seems to point at more gr...

Fantastic! Does it allow for language setting at all? The list of languages Quicktime/iPod uses is public.

Any cli support is better than none..
Subtitle CLI tools is precisely what's missing so that would be enough, really.

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
How is that a bug? Muxo will do the same thing (at least the one I have), still early days and so far it is better than I could of hoped :D Please, let's not be irrational. It's a bug even if we are thankful for Subler (and we are). If it can't find the files you've told it it should complain, not ...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
There's a bug in subler. If the subtitle files are modified, moved or deleted before the file is "saved" then the whole .m4v will be corrupted. I guess adding the subtitle should load it into memory so the original srt file can be moved or changed without breaking the .m4v. Otherwise have ...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
A quick browse around Subler's source code makes it clear it uses mp4v2, but the subtitle parsing code comes from Perian. I'd assume that's converted into the (somewhat) simple XML format ttxt has on MP4s.

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
Do you plan on completely replacing AtomicParsley for M4V's? I wouldn't mind (as long as it's possible in the CLI). My current AtomicParsley command is: ./AtomicParsley "$NEWFILE" --DeepScan iPod-uuid 1200 --overWrite --stik "TV Show" --title "$EPISODETITLE" --TVShowNa...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
If I may make a suggestion: Please consider taking advantage of Drag & Drop. If I drop a video file and two subtitle files with the same name but with extension .srt or ISO-639-2+ srt (movie.srt or movie.en.srt or movie.sp.srt, etc.) then I want to mash them together. If I drop twenty movie file...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
I really *can't* thank you enough. I'd been pulling my hair at muxo's limbo and trying alternative solutions without any luck. Yesterday was a very active day for me in the subtitles front (I make a very simple subtitle download tool at eduo.info/soleol ), as I finally threw the towel regarding Muxo...
