I ripped a full length 8 gigabyte dvd (lord of the rings the return of the king) in about an 45-1 hour and 30 minutes. I was using a q6600 @ 3.7 ghz, and 6 gigs of ram. I used the film profile, and the h264 codec requires more horse power. That does sound a little high, but nothing out of this world.

It's ok... I just reripped all my videos with the m4v format and AC3 audio... took time, but well whatever.

You were right about that, so then I put the trunk folder in my c:\ drive. Compiled for about 45 min, and then it produced handbrake.cli (deflated 58% dunno what that means) I put cygwin1.dll in the same folder and double clicked it, it opened a dos window and then it closed itself... I changed the link now, and it seems to work with the new MPFR version 2.4.0 this also changes the second step too... Will post back my progress later, thanks for your help again.

I'm on a qx6700 @ 3.7 ghz, 3x320 in raid 0 and 6 gigs of ram. I don't think it will take that long, I was looking at a tutorial for compiling the GUI, I don't care much for the cmi as I mean it's not like I'm on linux right now Ill look at that link, thanks for your help btw
