Re: Board revision

Testing with the grey theme, it works ok. I just would rather have the scroll bar than the extending text box.

Re: Considering upgrading memory

Yeah, I always assumed windows has so many services/processes running that you can never get exact number. I wonder if Linux would be better as I imagine its easier to kill unnecessary tasks. I had quite the nightmare trying to get Ubuntu installed and up to date when I bought this system a few yea...

Re: Considering upgrading memory

The difference is way too small to be statistically significant, unless you maybe ran each encode 100 times and average the resulting encoding speeds. I was thinking about that too. I wasn't interested in doing that many encodes though! I wanted to get that memory in. I guess I should have done it ...

Re: Board revision

When using the full editor, when it decides to extend the text entry box, it likes to re-render (flash) the whole page. Can this behavior be disabled? When using the quick reply, when it decides to extend the text entry box, it just makes the box extend down with a scroll bar, and doesn't make the p...

Re: Handbrake crashing and/or stuck on scanning

As much as I want to test it again, I am afraid of putting my laptop into greater risk as it already is. Is there an alternative method to sort out the audio syncing problem? Sorry, just that I don't know what to do, I don't know whenever to convert another file into a different format then use Han...

Re: Advanced Settings Tab in WinGUI still has some problems

Isn't it time to nuke the advanced tab anyway... No. SC I respectfully disagree. The advanced tabs provides some widgets to set some x264 options as a convenience for the user, which is nice, but: - people who aren't advanced users should stick with libx264's presets as much as possible - advanced ...

Re: Board revision

On my Mac (OS X 10.10.x), it's working ok with Firefox v41. It's on the workstation (Win7 64) with Firefox v27 that's having the issues with the pages flashing. Right now the Handbrake cocktail is up in the corner. I am still getting the issue with the dashed lines for the quick reply box as Woodsto...

Shouldn't the Handbrake image be in the upper left corner, instead of the phpBB image?

Re: Board revision

Going from the special edition theme to the regular version makes it much less annoying, as it just flashes once.

Board revision

There seems to have been a update for the board in the last month. When I load a page it flashes something like a text only browser, then a "default" theme, and then goes back to the Handbrake theme. This is very annoying. Is anyone else seeing this? And someone at phpBB went a bit crazy with icons....

I don't know. Research overriding Trend Micro's faulty reporting to see if you can run software you want to run.

Re: Considering upgrading memory

The good news - There was another sale. So now I have a WEI score of 7.8 for memory! :D The results: 11-11-11-28 2x2GB work: average encoding speed for job is 30.178352 fps 11-11-11-28 2x4GB (comparing memory space against the old memory speed) work: average encoding speed for job is 29.442677 fps :...

Re: Handbrake crashing and/or stuck on scanning

If you download the nightly release from the Handbrake site, then your computer was not infected by a virus from Handbrake. You are suffering from a false positive. If you downloaded it from somewhere else, then who knows? If you can't override your security software you should consider getting diff...

Hello.

Mixing down multiple audio streams is beyond the scope of Handbrake, and will have to be done before hand in Vegas.

I believe there are parts of HB that are not multi-threaded so there might not be much that can be done.

Re: Considering upgrading memory

Bring up task manager and watch the physical memory under performance as you encode a Bluray file. If you don't see it going over 50% use, "more RAM" isn't going to be a big help. As Rollin mentions, though, faster RAM may help, and if it's a bigger space... That's a bonus for running other things....

MakeMKV does not copy DVDs, but creates the MKV files from what it finds on the disc. MakeMKV only copies Blurays, or makes the files.

Frys has some nice 9-9-9-24 on sale today. I might go and pick it up.

Can't help but get a larger space to work in, 'cuz 2017 vs 2013, for almost the same price.

Considering upgrading memory

Hello, When I bought the new system, I went a bit cheap on the memory. It's DDR3 1600 11-11-11-28. My Windows Experience for memory is 5.9, which makes me :? since everything else is 7+. I'm wondering if Handbrake would be happier with memory that has faster timing, or if it might only be marginally...

Ok. What we would like to see would be an encode log from the prior version of Handbrake, and an encode log from the newer version of Handbrake, on the same file with the same settings (or as close as possible), where the file from the new version of Handbrake is having issues being served to your P...
