Re: Audio Sync Problems on some titles

Ohhhhhh.... de"telecine"... I miss-read that as de"interlace". I'd like to thank my fans for pointing out my apparent vision issues. I will try de"telercine" tonight. I wish that "--vfr" was supported on Windows... :( multiplied by many Re. your comment about the fix (and thank you BTW)... I am not ...

Re: Encode only a few frames to test

I have not seen any options that can do that. Are there any alternate titles on the same disk that you can test with that would help?

Re: Audio Sync Problems on some titles

I think they call this tough love... and I'm feeling it over here my friend. You'd think I'd experiment a bit before I post a question on a forum right? Here's the log after I use --deinterlace=slower, still with audio sync problems... It would be great if someone had a suggestion that might help re...

Re: Decomb but lips still show interlacing

Considering the following 2 things as you suggested: -5, --decomb Selectively deinterlaces when it detects combing <MO:ME:MT:ST:BT:BX:BY> (default: 1:2:6:9:80:16:16) and http://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/Decomb I have one problem... I am but a simple idiot at heart... which value would you change if dea...

Re: Audio Sync Problems on some titles

So you're saying I should use the following?

Code: Select all

--deinterlace=slower
I thought this removed quality... I'll give it a shot to see what I get.

When I scan only, is there something that indicates that I should be using --deinterlace?

Code: Select all

Re: Do not autocrop, command line setting.

To prevent autocrop the solution is to add the following in the command line.

Code: Select all

--crop 0:0:0:0

Re: 5.1 Surround Sound for a PS3 file?

This is a follow-up to my previous post with what I think is the best was to convert a DVD. I have be doing this in Vista with scripting. My objective is to playback on PS3 with native Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack but the advantages of H.264 compresson and for the file to have a future use (possibly...

Re: Howto use PS3 presets with Dolby Digital

I strongly reccomend doing AC3 passthrough to a mkv and then muxing to m2ts. This will play flawlessly on the PS3 natively giving you the original Dolby Digital 5.1 for audio and AVC (H.264) for video. If you use AAC there are issues over Toslink with 5.1 sound due to bandwidth constraints that can ...

Re: Batch conversion using CLI via Perl or Shell script??

I have be doing this in Vista with scripting and most of this will easily translate to a shell script. There are 2 scripts... a parent and a sub-script. This process will convert to a .m2ts with 1250 bitrate H.264 and AC3 pass-through. It isn't perfected but I am using it on a large quantity of rips...

Re: Auto shutdown

I believe that you can control this in the GUI. On Windows my computer will shutdown automatically using CLI. If you go into the GUI and click Tools, Options, there is a drop called 'When Done'. I use 'Quit Handbrake' and 'Shutdown' depending on my desited behaviour. The default option is 'Do Nothin...

Audio Sync Problems on some titles

I have found that approximately 30% of titles have audio sync problems and don't understand why. Either a) my source is the problem and a new rip would be the solution, b) I am not using a command line option that will fix this c) Some other explanation that my tiny mind doesn't know exists. Are the...

Decomb but lips still show interlacing

I have a number of titles that after using --decomb, interlacing is still noticable around lips when people speak. And here is the log file from the above: [04:37:23] hb_init: checking cpu count [04:37:23] hb_init: starting libhb thread HandBrake 0.9.3 (2008112300) - http://handbrake.fr/ 4 CPUs dete...

Re: 5.1 Surround Sound for a PS3 file?

Here's the template script I've decided to use. Just insert your values for 'indir' and 'movie' and your location of HandBrakeCLI.exe and tsMuxeR.exe. This works nicely including fast forward without audio sync issues. I still need to test forced subtitles but didn't find a movie to verify the optio...

Re: 5.1 Surround Sound for a PS3 file?

After a giant amount of research on converting a 480p DVD into H.264 with 5.1 audio for playback on PS3, my personal vote is that H.264 with AC3 5.1 in a M2TS is the way to go. It sounds like this is purely for wider compatability with existing audio equipment (optical). Although I am still a plain ...
