Hi Spook50,
You may want to see my post here:
http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php ... PSP#p73860
I have a PSP 1001 (the original). Note that my preferred settigns are optimized for size, not quality ... but it is a starting point.
Good luck!

Re: PSP: Need Help With Settings
Hi jonathanjobe, This is a little off topic for a thread titled "PSP: Need Help With Settings" :D For the short answer, try changing { -i "G:\Video\Test.avi" } into { -i %1 }. Your output will always be named "E:\Jonathan\Videos\Handbrake\handbrake.mp4", so make sure yo...

Re: PSP: Need Help With Settings
smokeypsd - what operating system are you using? And, can you please post an Activity Log, even if it doesn't result in a good file for you ? That will tell me what settings you've actually selected.
Thanks,
tedtaylor.

Re: The PSP and Handbrake 0.9.3
I heard my name .... :D Dogbyte, I have three questions. 1) What operating system do you use ? I do Windows and Linux, but not Mac. 2) What model of PSP do you use? There are four major models; the PSP-1000, PSP-2000, PSP-3000, and PSP Go. 3) What PSP firmware version do you have ? ( see procedure h...

Hi da_bears72, The PSP preset has been removed from HandBrake v0.9.4. Please see this post: http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13354&start=0 Please respond in that post, if it worked for you (or if it didn't work ; then I'll need your Activity Log to figure out why it didn't) And ...

Re: 0.94 "Normal" setting with PSP issue
Hi jametsko,
The defaults have changed from 0.9.3 to 0.9.4 ... so what worked before, won't necessarily work now.
You may want to try this : http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php ... 354#p65660
We really need to see your Activity Log from 0.9.4 to be able to help you..

Re: 0.94 "Normal" setting with PSP issue
Franko77,
Could you please share your Activity Log for a "normal" encode from v0.9.4, which does not work on the PSP. I'd like to be able to help, but without your activity log, I'd only be guessing.
Thanks,
tedtaylor.

Re: Handbrake 0.94 not keeping custom PSP video settings.
Hi Jquirit, First off, I am not a HandBrake dev; not even related to the project. So take my words with the biggest grain of salt. I have been able to duplicate your results, using the same settings as shown in your log. I believe there are two problems with your encode: Irrespective of video size, ...

Re: .9.4 wont keep custom aspect ratio for PSP
Hi jntaylor63, A couple of things off the top of my head. I seem to remember the PSP hardware has a "fit to full screen" setting ... might this be kicking in, stretching the video to the full 480x272 ? I've only encoded a few videos with 0.9.4; all my previous encodes were on 0.9.3. I've a...

Re: PSP: Need Help With Settings
Hi bobwantsmail .... I can do a step-by-step guide for Linux, for Windows, and/or command line. I use a command line "script" ("batch file") because it will always remember my settings. And, as usual, it would really really help if you posted your full activity log for what didn'...

Re: Format keeps going back to M4V, I want mp4!!!
Hi John, Thanks for the quick reply. I had disabled "Use iPod/iTunes friendly option" (disabled == clear box, no checkmark). BUT, I had missed nightstrm's advice about disabling "Chapter Markers" to allow MP4 file names. So, to get a ".MP4" extension in the HandBrake GU...

Hi mugen,
See my reply to another post, and advise if that helps.
If not, then please post a full Activity Log of an encode that fails to display properly on the PSP.
Thanks!
TedTaylor.

Re: PSP: Need Help With Settings
Hi again, OK, with a grand total of two (2) videos encoded, I'm happy to report that v0.9.4 does work. Both videos played on my son's PSP 1000 running custom firmware 5.00 M33-6. Here's what I did (I'm using the HandBrake GUI v0.9.4 on Ubuntu x64) Select the source Select Apple-Universal preset : Th...

Re: Format keeps going back to M4V, I want mp4!!!
nightstrm, In the Linux GUI for v0.9.4, there is a File->Preferences option titled " Use iPod/iTunes friendly (.m4v) file extension for MP4 ". Alas, it does not seem to obey the unidentified things "you'll need to disable". I have disabled as many things as I can think of; the Ha...

coasterguru, Ebinori -
I'm upgrading my system to Ubuntu 9.10, so that I can see what 0.9.4 is doing.
In the meantime, could you be kind enough to post a full activity log from a non-functional 0.9.4 encode ?
Thanks,
TedTaylor.

Re: Sony PSP 3000 video format help.
I heard my name mentioned... :) From your log, I suspect your video bitrate (1024 kbps) was too high for the PSP to handle. [20:21:56] * video track [20:21:56] + decoder: mpeg2 [20:21:56] + bitrate 9800 kbps [20:21:56] + frame rate: same as source (around 23.976 fps) [20:21:56] + dimensions: 720 * 4...

Hi, I didn't want to hijack the thread titled Question about Ipod Nano video format , so I created this new one. Also, this is not a request for help ... I have what I need. I just don't like leaving unanswered questions. :) Transfer or stream ? That's not quite the same - and many streaming applica...

iTunes says my files aren't compatible with it In my very limited [/u] experience, I discovered that iTunes is a completely different beast compared to the iPod ... in my case, I was able to transfer a file onto my wife's iPod Touch G2 via WiFi, where it played flawlessly, yet iTunes complained tha...

Re: PSP Slim Settings...HELP
No worries Mark! I'm glad it works for you, but I do want to point out two differences between your encode, and my encode. You're using ffmpeg video encoder; I'm using x264 . Your video is not as sharp as it could be (the PSP is 480x272 pixels; you encoded to 368x208). (The ancient PSPs only support...

Thanks TedJ. the settings may be a little conservative Agreed; as you know, though, one has to cater to the lowest common denominator ... in this case, it is likely the Sony PSP. Alas, I don't have the hardware to test. EDIT: or is it the highest common denomitator? I get confused... I think we agre...
