Subtitles on SVN2907

I'm having a hard time getting the new snapshot to encode subtitles correctly. It seems no matter which tracks I select, or whether I want them hard or soft, my encodes have all available subs, all soft. This is my activity log for Predator. The intention was to select "English Bitmap 1" and have it hard-coded and forced only. I ended up with no hard coded subs, yet all 3 sub tracks were included in the output file.

I am running Windows 7. I had the same problem with Shaolin Soccer. I can post that log if needed, too.

Subtitles handling code is broken in the snapshot. You'll have to enable the query editor and manually fix the queries. It'll be fixed in the next release.

I also look forward to the answer. I also have the same problems. I desire soft subtitles in mkv that last longer. I've discovered this bug fix http://trac.handbrake.fr/changeset/2917 . To include this fix do I need to compile Handbrake from scratch?

There arn't any. It's as simple as generate query, edit query, add to queue or run encode. Setup next encode, hit generate query etc.
The documentation has not been updated yet for the new subtitle features. As a guide, the commands are listed if you run the command HandBrakeCLI.exe --help from the command prompt.

There is no eta other than soon assuming no unforeseen problems.
